Hand-painted small oval plate, made by a family of artisans in Granada, Spain.  The Ola design is inspired by motifs from traditional designs on antique pottery. This type of colourful ceramics is part of the 'fajalauza' tradition of Granada, which stems from the city's history of blending Spanish and north African culture. They speak of sunshine, long lunches and 'sobremesa': the Spanish word for the conversation over the table after a meal with family and friends.
