This digging spade has a heat-treated (hardened) carbon steel head for strength and durability, along with a weatherproofed (clear lacquered) Ash wood shaft for greater durability. The Epoxy-coated head has an improved resistance to rust, scratches, humidity and alkalines in the soil. The Elements Digging Spade also features an integral ergonomic forward tilted handle, for comfortable use at the ideal digging angle.
