FAVOURITE PRESENTS
Engagement Story
A surprise sea plane trip over Sydney harbour to arrive at a floating house, all sounds too good to be true? It was. The floating house was double booked! Luckily, we found ourselves somewhere else to stay and enjoyed a sunset walk to a little beach in the Pittwater basin.
Wedding Theme & Inspiration
Having lived in Sydney for the last 5 years, and being on the beautiful Cornish coast, we wanted to bring a rustic relaxed beach vibe to our wedding. Wherever possible, we used local Cornish wedding suppliers - all of whom were amazing!
Location
Rock, Cornwall. It's a very special space to us which holds lots of happy memories.
Wedding Marquee Supplier
John Bray's Field, with an amazing marquee by Baya Domes featuring lots of suspended foliage and wicker shades.
Wedding Décor
We hired furniture from Virginia's Vintage Hire to achieve that relaxed, natural coastal look we wanted. We live in Syndey and Cornwall holds a very special place in our hearts, so it felt very personal to have some refined coastal elements intertwined into our day.
Wedding Flowers
I chose Emily Talling of Three Acre for my wedding flowers, and I couldn't have been happier with the stunning arrangements she created.
Bridal Fashion
My wedding dress was by J. Andreatta and my evening dress was by Sir The Label (with a custom bow sourced by The Loop, a sustainable wedding dress company doing wonders selling pre-loved bridal wear). Shoes were by Loeffler Randall, with a pair of Blundstone boots for walking from church and personalised Golden Goose for dancing! My necklace was by Alex Monroe.
Wedding Hair & Make-Up
I wanted a relaxed, natural look for my hair and make up and Gemma Sutton was brilliant.
Groom's Fashion
Ed wore his Morning Suit with a SirPlus natural linen waistcoat and a Salvatore Ferragamo tie.
Bridesmaids, Flower Girls & Page Boys
Freya Lillie linen jumpsuits and dresses for the flower girls, and Zara for the page boys.
Wedding Catering
Fee's Food, an amazing local caterer based in Rock, created our incredible feasting menu of Cornish Mezze; Roast Spatchcock Chicken with Preserved Lemons and Fresh Herbs, Seared Mackerel Fillets with Lemon, Roasted Butternut Squash, Beetroot and Hazelnuts, Halloumi, Roasted Aubergine, Courgette and Pepper skewers, Puy Lentil Salad, Quinoa with Sumac and Herbs, and Cucumber & Mint Raita. To finish we had a sharing tray of mini puddings.
Wedding Wine & Drinks
We served Cornish Ale, Champagne, Pinot Noir & Picpoul de Pinet. We also had homemade bottles of Negroni's on the table and a Tarquins Cornish G&T bar.
Wedding Photography
Ben Wigglesworth. An incredible wedding photographer based in Newquay, who also owns an beautiful art gallery called North Coast Asylum.
Wedding Music
We had Holly Turton, an acoustic singer in the church and during cocktail hour. The Lemonaires, a sea shanty band, performed outside the church. We also had The Juke Joints, a roaming band, and DJ Fistral Stereo.
Standout Moments
Chloe driving through Rock in the wedding golf buggy with her brother and sister, drinks on the beach outside the church with a shanty band, dancing outside under the Cornish sun to the roaming band, all the speeches and the silent disco on Sunday. We were lucky to have lots of people staying in Rock and pottering around all weekend, bumping into guests made it all very special.
Advice To Future Couples
Start the planning early if you can. Enjoy the build up. Make it a team effort as it's so epic taking a moment on the day to see what the hard work created!
