WPC Real Wedding: A Sunny Country Wedding in Surrey

Hattie and Bertie share their stunning country marquee wedding with us. Full of unique and personal DIY decor, and a show-stopping bridal dress from Louise Selby.

The Surrey Church

The new Mr & Mrs Tibbles give us a peak into their beautiful country wedding in Surrey. Held in April 2017, Hattie and Bertie were blessed with a beautifully sunny day, not a single drop of April showers to be seen! They held their ceremony at Hattie's local church, St. Mary’s, in the quaint village of Chiddingfold, Surrey.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue...

Sticking to tradition, Hattie's something old was a sixpence given to her by her mother (which her sister also wore on her wedding day). Her something new was her made to measure 'Mimosa' wedding dress by the incredibly talented London-based designer, Louise Selby. Something borrowed, were a pair of earrings from her sister, and her something blue was her beautiful aquamarine engagement ring.

The Vintage Wedding Car

Leaving as Mr and Mrs Tibbles for the first time, the newlyweds made their way to Hattie's family house for their reception in a family-owned vintage Bentley.

The Novelty Guest Transport

Guests were treated to a ramble through the Surrey country lanes in this stunning vintage bus between the church and reception.

The Wedding Colours

Hattie and Bertie chose gorgeous pale blues and pinks for their wedding colours. They tied these into every aspect of their day, from the church flowers to the marquee decoration.

The Marquee Reception

A truly creative family, Bertie’s mother made sloe gin as favours for the tables, and Hattie and Bertie created an amazing bar out of upcycled wooden crates decorated with fairy lights and greenery.

The Surrey Wedding Caterer

Hattie chose renowned caterer Mari Hudson, who served incredible canapés in abundance throughout the drinks reception. Their wedding breakfast was a feast of Roast Beef with Dauphinoise Potatoes and seasonable vegetables. For pudding a sugar hit was delivered in the form of a trio of passion fruit posset, strawberry and rhubarb cheesecake and salted caramel mousse.

The Lovingly-Made Wedding Cake

Their amazing square wedding cake was carrot flavoured and lovingly made by Hattie's sister.

The Flower Girl & Page Boy

Hattie's gorgeous niece was the perfect flower girl, and wore a dress from Next with a wax-flower flower crown. Page boys' were dressed for the occasion thanks to Amelia Brennan.

Grooms Fashion

The bride and groom’s tip for the day – get a videographer! Their videographer was Fried-Jan from A Beautiful Day, who came over from Netherlands. He played an initial edit of the wedding video during the reception for all the family and friends to enjoy
